Literature Ireland

Two Literary Translation Residencies in Dublin

Literature Ireland, in partnership with the Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation, seeks applications from literary translators for a residential bursary in Dublin in September–October, 2022.

We are delighted to welcome two literary translators, working from Irish or English into any European language, to spend 2-3 weeks immersing themselves in Dublin’s rich literary and cultural life this autumn.

Living expenses and flights from within Europe will be covered by Literature Ireland, while a work space will be provided by the Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation. Candidates must be currently working on the translation of a work by an Irish writer and should ideally hold a contract with a publishing house for the work in question. Translators of fiction, literary non-fiction, poetry and drama are all welcome to apply.

The two residencies will run from 19 September until 23 October, 2022 consecutively. Applications should include:
