In conversation with Spanish translator, Esther Cruz

Literature Ireland is delighted to host a discussion between our first post-pandemic translator-in-residence, Esther Cruz, and Catherine Barbour from the Spanish Department of Trinity College Dublin.

The event, presented in partnership with the Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation, will take place on Tuesday, 26 July 2022, at 1 p.m. in our translation library at 36 Fenian Street, Trinity College Dublin. For those who can’t make it in person, the discussion will also be streamed live online.

Esther and Catherine will explore translating Irish literature for the Spanish market, with reflections on Esther’s time here in Dublin. Though Esther has translated a number of Irish texts in the past, this has been her first time visiting Ireland. Hearing about how this visit has affected her translation work will be thought-provoking for all who attend or tune in!

The event is free and open to the public. Book your place in advance by clicking the button below.
