Literature Ireland

Now Live on YouTube | Translating Madame Lazare: A conversation with novelist Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin

It was Literature Ireland’s pleasure to host a discussion with writer, musician and publisher Tadhg Mac Dhonnagáin last week.

In our translation library at the Trinity Centre for Literary and Cultural Translation, Tadhg spoke to Sinéad Mac Aodha, Director of Literature Ireland, about his new novel Madame Lazare and how receiving a special mention at the European Union Prize for Literature 2022 has provoked exciting new opportunities for translation of the text.

Thank you to all who attended the event and, most importantly, to Mac Dhonnagáin for speaking about the novel in such an insightful and inspiring way.

Those who missed this introspective interview can now catch up by watching it on our Youtube channel here.
