Bernhard Robben, the renowned German translator of Kevin Barry and John Banville, in conversation with the Irish translator and editor Rachel McNicholl.

Bernhard Robben has translated many Irish authors of prose and poetry into German, including Seamus Heaney, John Banville, Paul Muldoon, Paula Meehan, Glenn Patterson, Frank Ronan, John Montague, Brian Moore, Medbh McGuckian. Last year he was awarded the Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt Prize for Literary Lifetime Achievement. He is currently working on a translation of Kevin Barry's City Of Bohane.
