Marie Hermet, ILE's first translator-in-residence in 2016

Literature Ireland warmly welcomes the translator Marie Hermet, our first translator-in-residence in 2016! Marie's residency involves meetings with a number of Irish writers around Dublin and two workshops with the lucky translation students on the MPhil in Literary Translation at Trinity College. What a great translation start to the New Year!

Marie Hermet is a full-time translator and scout for a number of French publishing companies. She specialises in Irish literature and has translated amongst others Roddy Doyle and Dermot Bolger. She’s currently a tutor and lecturer in translation studies at Paris Descartes University. A member of the Board of the French Translators Association (ATLF), she acts as an editor at 'Translittératures' and is the author of several articles and short stories.

Bienvenue Marie!
