Eoin Colfer

Eoin Colfer was born in Wexford where he still lives. The four years he and his wife spent working in Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Italy between 1992 and 1996 inspired his first book, Benny and Omar, which has been translated into many languages. When his adventure story about a twelve-year-old criminal mastermind named Artemis Fowl became an international bestseller in 2001, Colfer gave up his post as a primary school teacher and dedicated himself fully to writing.
