Mark Doherty

Mark Doherty was born in Dublin and has written for radio, television, stage and screen. He gathered experience as a stand-up comedian in the 1990s and has appeared in theatre and film. His play Trad, first conceived as a radio play, won an Edinburgh Fringe First and a BBC Radio Drama Stewart Parker Trust Award in 2004. A Film with Me in It, which Doherty wrote and in which he also played the lead role, won the Tiernan McBride International Screenplay award in 2006 and was released in 2008. Other recent film and television work includes Soupy Norman, Time Trumpet (BBC), Ondine, Albert Nobbs, Mr. Foley and The Runway.
