William Wall

William Wall was born and still lives in Cork. He studied English and Philosophy at the local University College and worked as an English teacher before becoming a full-time writer. Wall is the author of several novels, short stories, poetry collections and children's stories. His fourth novel, 'This Is the Country', was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2005 and shortlisted for The Irish Book Awards and the Young Mind Prize. Wall has received numerous prizes, including the Patrick Kavanagh Award and the Sean O'Faoláin Award. His stories were collected as No Paradiso in 2006.
