A month in books: January 2026
Literature Ireland's Translation Grant programme invites international publishers to apply for a contribution towards the translation of Irish literature from English or Irish into another language. For 30 years now, Literature Ireland's archive has housed copies of these awarded books!
In January we received copies of 7 titles in 6 languages:

- Claire-Louise Bennett’s “Big Kiss, Bye Bye” in Dutch translated by Karina van Santen and Martine Vosmaer (@uitgeverij_koppernik)
- Katriona O'Sullivan’s “Poor” in Italian translated by Anna Dalton / @annadaltonofficial (@peoplepub.it)
- Nicole Flattery’s “Nothing Special” in Slovenian translated by Anja Radaljac (@literamaribor)
- Garrett Carr’s “The Boy from the Sea” in Greek translated by Ioanna Iliadi / Ιωάννα Ηλιάδ (@metaixmiobooks)
- Louise Kennedy’s “Traspasses” in Estonian translated by Kaisa Kaer (@kirjastusvarrak)
- Barbara Leahy’s “Rembrandt's Promise” in Spanish translated by Noelia Pousada Lobeira (@librosdesedaeditorial)
