Marvin Halleraker

1962 -

Marvin Halleraker, born in Stavanger, Norway, is a norwegian artist, working as an illustrator, writer and musician. He is a renowned newspaper cartoonist in Scandinavia. Marvin lives in Bergen where he also studied graphic techniques and illustration at BKHS.

Marvin Halleraker was employed as a political cartoonist in the major newspaper Bergens Tidende, from 1990. Over the last years he has been working freelance for several newspapers. He has also illustrated many books and had his debut as a writer with his own book for children Høyt over husene (High Above the Houses) in 2007. This book was also published in Ireland, The Netherlands and Germany. Høyt over husene was shortlisted for Brageprisen and won several prices in Norway.

His next book for children, Freddy, was released in 2011 and also published in Denmark and Germany. Halleraker has additionally been working with painting, photography and music. In 2012 he had his debut as a songwriter and musician with his album ”There´s Another Green”.
