Marie Heaney

Marie Heaney was born in Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland, where she trained as a teacher. She also holds a Masters degree in Irish Studies from University College Dublin and writes for both television and newspapers. Marie Heaney has published two collections of Irish legends: Over Nine Waves and, more recently, a beautifully illustrated Irish myhtology for children, Names Upon the Harp. She lives in Dublin with her husband, the poet Seamus Heaney.
