The Walworth Farce

Enda Walsh

Winner of the Fringe First Award for outstanding new writing at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival, The Walworth Farce depicts what can happen when we become stuck in the stories we tell about our lives. It's 11 o'clock in the morning in a council flat on the Walworth Road in London. As every day, Dinny directs his two sons, Sean and Blake, in their own little house-play that tells the story of how this unconventional family left Cork and found its way to London. On this day, Hayley from the local Tesco arrives on their doorstep with a forgotten bag of groceries and upsets the delicate fiction Dinny has been weaving all these years.
