Peter Sirr

Peter Sirr was born in Waterford in 1960 and now lives in Dublin where, until 2003, he was Director of the Irish Writers' Centre. He works as a freelance writer, editor and translator. Between 2003 and 2007 he was editor of Poetry Ireland Review. Sirr has received numerous awards, among which the Patrick Kavanagh Award when he was 22 for Marginal Zones and to the O'Shaughnessy Award for Poetry in 1998 for The Ledger of Fruitful Exchange. His latest poetry collections are Selected Poems and Nonetheless, both published in 2004. Peter Sirr is a member of Aosdána.
