Nuala O'Faolain

Born in Dublin in 1940, Nuala O'Faolain studied English at University College Dublin, medieval English literature at the University of Hull and English at Oxford University. An award-winning journalist for RTE and successful columnist for The Irish Times, she became internationally well-known for her two bestselling volumes of memoir, Are You Somebody? and Almost There. A novel, My Dream of You, and a history with commentary, The Story of Chicago May, followed in 2001 and 2005 respcetively. Nuala O'Faolain died in Dublin on 9 May 2008.
