Vzdalene tony nadeje (The distant music of hope) is the work of a team of 15 leading Czech translators working under the guidance of editor Peter Quinn. It includes a wide range of writers, beginning with Patrick Kavanagh, Louis MacNeice and Austin Clarke, followed by eminent poets Seamus Heaney, Derek Mahon, Michael Longley, Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill, and ending with a sample of works by a new generation of Irish poets.
