Joseph O'Connor

Joseph O'Connor was born in Dublin. He has written thirteen books, including Cowboys and Indians, shortlisted for the Whitbread Prize, Desperadoes, The Salesman, Inishowen and Star of the Sea, which became an international bestseller. Star of the Sea received many awards, including the Prix Madeleine Zepter for European Novel of the Year. O'Connor is the creator and editor of Yeats is Dead!, a serial novel by fifteen Irish writers for Amnesty International, which includes contributions by Roddy Doyle and Frank McCourt. Redemption Falls was published in 2007 and is a loose sequel to Star of the Sea. Ghost Light, about the clandestine relationship between JM Synge and Molly Allgood, was published in 2010 and was named the 'Dublin: One City, One Book' choice for April 2011. Joseph O'Connor lives in Dublin.
